What the sources say
He surrendered at the army's gate with his hands bound and a coffin borne behind him, was enfeoffed Marquis of Guiming, and died at Luoyang in 284. When Jia Chong taunted him at the banquet with the flayings and the gouged eyes, his answer was that such is the penalty for subjects who murder their lord — and Jia Chong had no answer.
