Privacy — Contents Log
Contents Log does not collect any personal data. There is no account to create, no server to send it to, and no analytics or advertising code inside the app.
What stays on your iPhone
Room names, item names, values, serial numbers, notes, purchase dates and photos are written to the app's private storage on the device you recorded them on. That data is never uploaded, never synced to a company-controlled service, and never leaves the phone unless you press Export and choose where the file goes.
What the app asks for
- Camera — to photograph an item as you record it. Images are saved to the app's own storage, not to your photo library.
- Photo library — only through the system photo picker, when you tap Library and choose specific images yourself. The app cannot browse your library.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is handled by Apple's App Store. Contents Log receives only the fact that your device owns the purchase, so it can keep the feature unlocked. We never see your name, card details or receipt, and we cannot — there is nowhere for that information to arrive.
Exports
When you export a CSV, a ZIP of photos, or a PDF, the file is written into the app's storage and handed to the iOS share sheet. From that moment the destination you pick — Files, Mail, a messaging app — has its own privacy policy. Contents Log does not keep a copy of anything it sent, and it does not transmit files on its own.
Children
The app is a household record and is not directed at children, and it collects nothing from anyone.
If this changes
Any future feature that would collect data gets its own plain-language sentence here, added before that version ships — not after. This page is dated so you can tell which version you are reading.
